A writer by early morning and night, a professional something-or-other by day, and a mom of two small children 24-7, I am trying to find balance, cultivate compassion, and still maintain a healthy sense of humor. This is my record of those endeavors.

As an explanatory note: I had originally conceived of this space as a “concept” blog, wherein I would discuss issues related to mindful travel.  Then it got broadened to mindful living, as I don’t do nearly as much travel as I used to given my two kids.  Recently, though, I’ve realized that this space is an experimental lab of sorts for me.  It allows me to explore the mindful, spiritual side of myself, but also allows for me to write fiction – be it good or abominable – and to experiment with different forms of my craft.  Bottom line, for now this space is a bit all over the map, much like my brain at any given moment.

  1. Soup! 🙂 For four with left overs.

    6 potatoes, unpeeled
    1 med onion, peeled
1 small head of bok choy
1 can of corn 1 stick of butter
1/3 – ½ cup of half and half.
    Curry powder (sweet)
    Worcestershire sauce.

In a large pot melt the butter
Clean and dice potatoes, onion and bok choy add to the butter
Add water until it makes a thick mixture
Blend corn with the juice from the can so most of the kernels are broken. Toss that in.
Add Curry (I just shake it till it feels good) 1-2 tblsp?
    1tblsp-ish basil
    salt to taste
A dash or two of Worcestershire

Cook it till everything is soft, add water if necessary, stirring often.
Add half and half at the end, stir in and serve.
